I use adblock plus mainly for security reasons... to minimize the risk of drive by infections from 3rd party ads. Secondarily it does make browsing faster especially when the ads are blocked from being downloaded in the first place. Also some graphics/animation heavy ads sometimes causes the utilization of my GPU and CPU to spike. Note that I always run a CPU / GPU / Network utilization gadgets and the task manager so I can see what resources are being taken up by programs/apps.
I wonder why bother? Maybe he is selling something. I just don't get the point of spamming. Maybe it's some kind of fun like spraying the walls with graffiti.
