  • Actually I think you mean me, but anyway, no I don't wax my chest, or any part of my body for that matter. giggle.gif

Still waiting for my gosh darn facial hair to come in fully though, I really want to start rocking a beard, and maybe a stache as well.

  • So, I'm dying to know: do you wax your chest?

Or do you rock the Baldwin look:

    IwDDeCo.jpg
  • I don't wax anything. I don't have much in the way of chest hair either. It would actually look better if I got rid of the patches of hair that I have because I think it needs to be all or nothing. It doesn't look right to have little blotches here and there.

That being said, what bugs me is the fact that (due to media pressure from very large and powerful corporations) it is now being considered "proper hygiene" for men to remove all body hair other than from the scalp.

Women are starting to get anal about it too. (Ironic because they won't date a bald man, but they can't stand the thought of hair anywhere else.)

As usual, this trend (IMHO) is being pushed by the companies that sell body wax and other similar products. Having 50% of the population isn't enough money for them. They want the other 50%.

It goes further than that though. There seems to be a war against not only body hair, but men in general. (Another interesting fact to consider is this: How many pet lovers have a male cat or male dog? And if they don't have one, was it a conscious decision and why?)

Ha, good one. My preference seems to have always been female cats and dogs.

They had to shave my pubic hair to attach the catheter and other vein access tubes to take blood, etc. It was a pain removing all of the old black tape goop after the four days. I found my GoJo hand cleaner as soon as I got home and cleaned what I could.

I think if the babe won't go out with you because you haven't waxed has some problems of her own. How much make-up does she wear? Some people spend a lot of time in the saunas, make-over salons, and clothes stores. I've always had a prejudice with high maintenance people. If she can't handle the way you are, she doesn't deserve you. We're talking about people liking each other, not what they spend on the way they look or what they spend on various potions.lookdown.gif

He actually made an appearance not too long ago, when they had an "old school RAW" special in late 2010. He didn't wrestle though, I don't think.

EEeeewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww!!!! Owwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww! I can't have anything hooked up to my pee pee. That must hurt like hell!!! yuck.gif

Did they have to shave everything??? Ow!!! Not many flat surfaces down there. Lots of places for a razor to get snagged. yuck.gif

I know it bothers some women. I've met some of them. As far as I'm concerned, guys should have body hair. That's basically what separates men from women. Guys that tend to shave all body hair are usually porn stars - and they tend to be gay.

Now for me, I don't grow much in the way of body hair on my chest or back. It's more like a small patch here or there. More annoying than anything. eg: I get lots of hair on the back of my neck and right at the backs of my shoulders. I tend to shave it there so that it isn't visible when I wear shirts but it's back within two days. gasp.gif

The hair everywhere was shaved with an electric razor. So, there wasn't much need for flat skin and all that. The electric razor can do a pretty good job on sensitive places without touching that much.

Now, about the catheter, my pubic area is all covered in some kind of red rash. It doesn't itch or hurt. They guessed that it was some allergic reaction to silicon tubing that was stuck in there, then taped along the way out to a vacuum pump. I still have internal bruises from the thing in there. They gave me some goop to apply. But after a week of applying it, I've moved on to Gold Bond powder which is talc. I like keeping it dry rather than moist with the antibiotic cream. It feels more like a burn than an allergy.

I didn't realize it was there for the first few days. After that, I started to see that I had two metal tubes in my lungs and the catheter. It's now far enough in the past to move on. But, it kinda hurt having them removed.

I guess that's a big reason for the anesthesia. They eventually had my ribs all splayed out there so they could access the stopped heart. I don't know how I'd react if I woke up in the middle of that.

I've been daily walking a half-mile up the hill, a 660 foot flat road across the land, and another half-mile down the hill. there may be about 250 feet of elevation change. Today, I didn't need to sit at every rock there is along the way. I also stacked a bunch of wood logs for the fireplace after the walk because I didn't run out of breath. So, clearly, I'm getting stronger and I'm kinda looking for physical things to do. So, I know I'll find them. I've got to also balance all of this with a more easy-does-it attitude. I don't want to rip some cut open. I think I'll be allright. I feel much more stamina.

Classic movie scene. Okay maybe not classic, but memorable. sun.gif

I have about 1/10th that amount of chest hair.

  • What movie is it anyway? Dan in Real Life?

Speaking of Steve Carell -- the Office, surprisingly, is doing fine without him, I'm enjoying it this season (as I did the previous ones). I thought it would go downhill fast without him, but it didn't for me. smile.gif

Amazing, doing all that stuff so soon after having a heart attack and open heart surgery. sun.gif But yeah, don't push yourself too hard.

Do you have more stamina than you had pre-heart attack yet?

  • No, not yet. I did go up the hill all the way to the top yesterday and today. It took me about 28 minutes to get up there. I've been able to aerobically push myself a few years ago and get up there in about 14 minutes. So, I'm still walking slowly and needing to catch my breath. But, today, I didn't have to sit on any rocks along the way. I just sat at the bench on the top of the hill for two minutes and came down. I'm trying to beat my time each day. I have many other places to visit while the poison oak hasn't come out. So, I anticipate getting a lot of walking in before it starts getting hot. If I can push a bit, I think it's alright. I usually get some aches or pains shooting out if I start stretching something that needs to grow together.

I'm quite happy about being able to walk around the land this soon. We'll see what the heart surgeon says next Wednesday about driving and lifting things. This has been a good experience. I've learned a lot of medical info. It's useful to know this stuff and nice to have it behind you without complications.sun.gif

  • Yeah, I guess they did. I know I was opened up like a sardine can so they could do the heart thing. I'm reading about how to recover from this all on the web. I know I'll grow back the extra hair.
The sternum will take 12 weeks to fully heal. Until then, I can't do push-ups or lift anything heavier than 10 lbs. Wow! I'm gonna lose whatever muscle tone I ever had. I'll have to start over after the 10 weeks remaining pass.

I guess I have to admit that I have to pay attention to events like this. I'm trying denial. But, it might not be the best way to go. I walked up the hill without any rest today. I feel that oxygen in there. I'm glad that there were no complications. You guys will just have to put up with me a while longer.bigsmile.gif

Yeah that's always the bugger. Recovery takes a long time. When I broke my hand it took a long time until I regained the strength and flexibility. (And this was AFTER the cast came off.)

You could always ramp it up slowly. See if you feel any pain/discomfort. I'm sure they're being extra cautious. Go light for the first month. Test the waters a bit in month two. ie: I'd lift the full 10 lbs and see what happens. Then in month three I'd break the limit and try some light workouts. You'll know right away what your body can do. We're talking bones and muscle here. The heart is all fixed. smile.gif

(I remember being outside raking leaves with a cast on my arm, trying my best to use the other arm. The leaves had to get raked and it couldn't wait two months for the cast to come off. When it started to get a little agitated I would stop.)

It certainly doesn't bother me that it was a nice looking nurse. The cardiac section had the best looking and the highest paid nurses. I think there is a competition for nurses to achieve that level. Pretty much all the nurses did what was needed. The only part of the hospital that didn't have their act together was the dietary crew. The food tasted like styrofoam. It was often cold and it was mostly packaged crap from Kellog's or Nestle's. It appears that the corporations have an in with the medical industry. All I can do is moan about it to the Surgeon. It certainly did affect my blood sugar. They took a long time to recognize that there were a lot of mistakes in the diet.

Anyway, the nurses had lots of guy nurses hanging around to 'help.' I was too far out of the age group to do any flirting. But, they were all hot and enticing. Have a heart attack - find a hot mate!sun.gif

The last surgery I has was when I was 14 and had my growth stunted in my left leg. The surgery was at the knee, and before going into the OR, a nice looking lady nurse came and shaved my left leg. As she got higher and higher up my thigh, I was getting a wee bit nervous that she was going to shave my boys down there, but just as she got close, she stopped and said "That's all". I guess at 14 I was apprehensive of the opposite sex seeing my privates.

Oh, I forgot, along with the shaving stuff, she had a huge silver serving spoon. I asked her what the spoon was for and she said if I got excited I would find out.
