Apparently the ad campaigns worked. I learned all the songs and knew all the words. These ads were everywhere - radio and tv. I always had the radio on as I commuted to school and work. The cereal ads were still there after I grew up - I think they are still there. Have you noticed the price of a box of Honey Nut Cheerios lately? It's like $6 for a box - Nikolai ate the whole thing in one day. When he visits, I have to buy a whole bunch of sugary things to keep him happy.
Well, you might have to change what you eat when the price is what you yourself must pay. I can still afford to eat pretty much what I want. The Cheerios were a pretty big box. But, it contained two meals for my kid. That's $3 per meal. I guess if one eats Cheerios for breakfast at a restaurant, he might be charged $3 for the meal - I don't know. I'm just starting to notice how inflation is hitting food. Same goes for drugs. I'm not so sure that more jobs are the answer. Maybe the next slogan wil be "cheaper prices!" once again.
I do not have either because I have to control my weight for running. Carb intake for my glycogen stores is important but only to the point of what I need. I find that, because I am 46, if I do not watch my food intake carefully, weight gain is very easy to occur.
