There's always some delay getting the keys in the pocket. Liquidating things to get the cash also takes time. It seems that he knows what he's getting.
So, now, did he actually get the car, or is he waiting for it? Maybe he's out driving it before he starts ranting about it.
I'd say there are two sides to the comparison of plastic versus metal. Plastic is easier to clean, lighter, and usually the whole part/body panel is made of it - so the paint doesn't scratch off. If you get a scratch, the color doesn't change. Plastic also doesn't rust.
But, there is another side to this story. Plastic does crack - especially after being in the sun for a few years. I've broken plastic door handles when the door is frozen shut by pulling too hard. Plastic isn't nearly as strong as metal. But, the weight saving gets one better gas mileage. Most of my 20-30 year old cars have cracks in the plastic dashboards.
No need to rain on the parade for now. Enjoy having the freedom to drive over to the other side of town without having to tell anyone why.
How is the mileage? Have you finished breaking in the motor? I haven't looked up the specs. Maybe you can tell me the type of motor (I'll assume double overhead cam, fuel-injected), size in liters, horsepower, how many gears in the transmission, number of seconds to get 0-60mph, and any other mechanical stuff - like rear wheel steering, video camera rear view, automatic high beam switching, etc. Do you have a warranty? How many years or miles? Will you get a tool set and change your own oil eventually? Do you know how to check the fluid levels - transmission fluid, water level, does it use normal anti-freeze (or is it like VW that uses only their own very costly, dealer available, antifreeze? There are lots of things to get to know.
I'd buy a repair manual online. But that's just me. I've never gone to a dealer for repair. They charge way too much.
So, this is what it's come to, you lie to us. Now we can never believe a single one of your postings. Thought it was cool you got a car, dint matter what car it was.
Now when you tell me you have "whatever" car, I'm going to assume you're telling a lie again
Not much plastic in that car - lots of metal, though. I guess safety is the big thing for you. There are lots of them out here in the woods. They do cost a bit. They seem to be pretty sturdy. I do see a lot of them in the junk yards too. People take chances with them more than in a Honda - because they are so sturdy.
