I think that's part of where their real life beef stems from... or at least it's rumored to be. Taker is very loyal to the company, and the company put a lot of hard work and effort into Lesnar. Taker let Lesnar go over him in a Hell in a Cell match no less and not long after, Lesnar left the company, which apparently bothered Taker. But you know how rumors are so who knows.
I can understand Lesnar leaving though, I remember in an interview on ESPN a couple years ago Lesnar saying that he:
1) Detested the grueling travel schedule (he's got a "star" contract now, where he basically doesn't have to travel and has a lighter workload, only fighting on PPVs here and there).
We still have Hell in a Cell matches, cage matches, etc. -- however, things have been toned down, so typically there's no blood. (If there is it's usually accidental.)
The last time there really was any significant blood was in Brock's first match since returning, vs. John Cena at Extreme Rules 2012. And I don't think it was a blade job either. Anyway it just so happened to also be an incredible match, one of the most memorable I've ever seen just because of the intensity and how different it was from the status quo. Definitely a worthy candidate for match of the year:
Also, what's kind of interesting is that down here, I'm pretty sure cable TV ratings are voluntary and don't actually have to be adhered to. Technically they could have blood and drop F bombs all day long and still rate it "TV-PG" and not get in any legal trouble, as long as it's on cable. It's just that they would probably lose all of their sponsors and have a ton of angry parents, boycotts, etc.
