Byrd did a little extra work today: at the end of the case, after Judge Judy finished righteously ripping into the female defendant, the audience all clapped. Byrd made a motion with his hand and said "unh uhh, that's not how we do it here" (and I just read about that on Wikipedia the other day: unlike other shows the audience isn't really allowed to laugh, talk, clap, etc. although they do let laughing go here and there).
I gave Judge Joe Brown and Judge Mathis a shot yesterday. So much more boring and less interesting than Judge Judy. Nobody wants to watch a judge basically be buddy-buddy with both parties. (Well, I guess some people do -- those shows have been around for a while too.)
