What??? Have you listened to the White Album and Revolver?
I think most of the current crop of pop stars are way overrated ... they all sound the same.
With regards to tech, I think this whole idea of cloud computing (as envisioned by Amazon, Google, Microsft, Adobe, etc.) is also overrated. Also I long for the days when you can get software in a diskette.
Obama perhaps? Oh, and I do not have an issue with the Metric system when it comes to running distances and racing. (Most race distances are measured in the metric system nowadays.)
Ahh, cassette tapes. Was corruption ever a problem with them? Because cassette music tapes always made the music sound warped, so I wonder if it was a problem with data tapes...
Banks and financial/insurance offices use back up tape drives in the servers. In small offices the manager has to change the tape in the drive every morning before they open. Larger offices have big drives that hold multiple tapes that can be changed remotely. One place I serviced had a corporate rule, if an office did not do a complete backup three days in a row, the office would have to close for business until a backup was done. Whenever a tape drive failed we had to be there the first day, leaving a second day to ship the replacement and the thrid day to install it so their IT Dept could do a backup and the store would not have to close.
