If I used triple ought buck for a load, each shell would bear 3 balls, .36" in dia. If I used double ought buck for a load, each shell would bear 5 balls, .32" in dia. If I used #4 buck for the load, each shell would bear 8 balls, .24" in dia. If I used #4 bird for the load, each shell would bear roughly 64 balls, .130 in dia.
I'm thinking that #4 buck makes the most sense for the expected conditions that I might eventually use the gun under (less than 15 feet away) That would be like getting hit by 8 .22 long rifle slugs all at once.
