We are the remnants of the old CPU mag forum. Most of us were there when the CPUmag was selling on the magazine racks in the supermarkets. Now, you can only get the magazine online and it doesn't really have much editorial content. It's mostly ads.
I still read Tom's Hardware and Anandtech to get comparisons and best bang-for-buck information. I also go to Afterdawn.com and Sourceforge.com to get newer software downloads and info.
I wonder if others have a list of places they go to figure out stuff?
Anyone know how to run 64 bit Flash on Firefox with Ubuntu? I've got to stay at Firefox 3.6. It has it's problems.
Which version of Ubuntu is working for you? I haven't gone to the latest upgrade because of the Unity front end on Narwal 11.02. I'm sitting at Maverick 10.10, because I've grown accustomed to the Gnome interface.
Progress isn't always what I'm looking for. I like when things work and are somewhat understandable - without blindly clicking around to find something on the desktop.
What does it cost per issue? I don't like buying all that glossy colorful printing to find out about the new improved PSU by Rosewill. I found the forums to be much more informative than the manufacturers giving us their predictions. The info would be nice to peruse - but I guess that's now available online. Maybe I'll go and see if the articles have anything for me.
I thought I saw an offer for one complementary printed issue. Does anyone know what to standard pricing is? Does it have a price on the cover? They usually inflate that to like $7, or so, on other magazines. I haven't received a magazine in the mail since my complementary "Rolling Stone" subscription ran out. That was another ad-filled magazine. I did read the political articles, which I really enjoyed. But, if it was saying anything important, it would show up on the web in many places.

I registered for the print subscription which is complimentary. (Free, I guess.) I did not put any payment info in at all.
