Zippo lighters.
I don't smoke or anything, but even so, lighters are useful to have around. Right now I carry two Bics that I found on the ground years ago, but I was looking at some Zippos and they look pretty slick, and they're fairly inexpensive too for how well made they apparently are.
I was reading a review though where the guy said that it was his first Zippo and the fuel evaporated pretty quickly, something he wasn't expecting. Anyone have experience with these lighters? Does the fuel "go" quickly even if you don't use the lighter?

I've bought quality Zippos in jewelry stores for $9.00 20 years ago, that were like precision instruments. I've also bought "flash" zippo lighters in boutique for like $5.00 that were barely deserving of the name Zippo.
The real problem with Zippos is, if you overfill them, they tend to leak in your pocket and give you a sore spot on your leg.
Go to Walgreen's and buy a $7 pocket torch.
Apparently the temp of the flame can reach over 2500F on the torches, so they'd obviously need to use a metal that had a melting point a decent amount above that.
The sparkers are cool though, I took one out of one of those red, long butane lighters that you see all the time at the store. If you touch the metal wire and "click" the sparker, it gives you a decent shock; and if you put the two wires close enough to each other when clicking the sparker you can see the spark travel, too. Put a crumb between the two wires and the spark travels around it usually, though sometimes it makes the crumb "jump".
