Trail mix

Do you enjoy trailmix? If so, what is your preference?

It always seems like whenever I buy a bag of premixed, I get mostly the stuff I don't like, and end up eating the duds anyway, just to keep from feeling ripped off. I usually buy the "Tropical Mix" variant, which seem to be stuffed full of rock hard chips of dried banana, peanuts, and strange little pretzel like things shaped like nuts.

So recently I started doing trail mix in a more intelligent fashion. I buy bags of separate components and mix them myself. Lately I've been taking 1 lb bags of dried pineapple, 1 lb of pecan halves, 1/2 lb of dried cranberries, and 2 lbs of "farmers fruit mix" (dried mango, papaya, raisins, pineapple, and cranberry) and blending them all together. It's much more fun when your favorites make up the majority, and not the minority.

Odd though, they claim that there is 30 grams of sugar in EACH 1/3 cup of dried pineapple. I'm amazed that they can get so much sugar in so small a volume.

Anyway, pecans and dried pineapple rock together,
