While wading through the abyss that is my rarely used Comcast email in box I happened upon a message from the one and only Jay Saul. What a great blast from the past!
However, he was the bearer of bad news. CPU Mag shut down their (our) forum.
That forum provided some people, I'm thinking Techguy, their only social interaction.
A travesty I tells ya.
I've seen this happen with other message boards. The upside is that new forums were spawned and they often became better.
I had not frequented the CPU forum for several years and the last computer I built had an Athlon 2400, some Pampas grass and its electrons rode the IDE bus (heavy sigh). It served me well.
I am going to build a new entertainment box to hook up to my TV. I will no doubt need expert advice and help with the build. I hope the group here is as friendly and knowledgeable as the group from now defunct CPU Mag forum.
