Anyone who complains about our dept to China and shops at Walmart is either ignorant about Walmart being a Chinese outlet store or they are blatant hypocrites. I haven't been in a Walmart for over ten years, but when I was last there my assessment of the clientele would be mostly ignorant and unconcerned about where anything was made.
Back when I was heavily under the influence of amphetamines, I started being able to draw equally well with my left hand as my right (I'm normally right handed), and even had better luck (left handed) trying to freehand lines that were (intended to be) perfectly straight.
i'd draw a picture right handed, but found when i was trying to detail items on the left side of the image, it was easier to control the pen with my left hand, and same went for detailing on the right.
I'd think you'd have figured out that the manufacturing jobs that fed the Midwest have been replaced by Chinese sweat shops. The money we spend for these items goes to Walmart - which is a Chinese-made store system. Walmart stores have replaced most of the small 'mom and pop' stores that used to sell to the Midwestern population.
A few Americans have also gotten rich from the creation of these stores.
The Chinese have created low-paying manufacturing jobs for the unemployed farmers in China.
We American buyers of plastic goods created in China have made lots of Chinese rich. Their whole economy has prospered by finding a place to export all those plastic toy robots and running shoes.
Oh yeah, the oil used to manufacture the plastic is imported from Saudi Arabia and Iraq - just as is the oil used in America. China has become another huge oil import market.
Do you know to whom America is financially beholding? The American deficit is mostly American Bonds held by China.
China has been making there own "versions" of Russian gear for a long time now. Hard to tell the difference anymore as China has been making some decent strides to improve on the Russian models.
With the fall of the Soviet Union - Russian "clones" built in China have been appearing in more frequent areas that would normally have been supplied by Mother Russia. I am not sure how long that will last - with Russian rebuilding and rearming now it may come to a screaming halt.
Will have to pay more attention to this in the near future.
