Techguy is correct.. right and wrong are subjective, based on what each person feels is right or wrong. Laws are what the majority of people in a society deem needs to be enacted to protect themselves from others. Every year new laws are created. Sure, your basic ones seem like common sense or even religious commandments. i.e. Thou shall not kill. but there's literally thousands of laws dealing with the mundane.
For example, in most States it's the law that a motorcyclists must wear a helmet. Seems like common sense to wear a helmet to protect your nogin, but should it be a law? Most people feel it should be and have voted it into law. Same with child seats. Should it be a law that you have to have your child in a child seat??? Mothers have guaranteed that it is. A mother will throw all civil liberties out the window for the sake of her babies.
Time was it was the law in Chicago that when a man and a women walk down the street, the man must be on the street side of the sidewalk. It's not enforced, but still on the books.
