I have started viewing liberalism in a similar vein as religion. There are a great many similarities. You have your sacred special interests to be worshiped, dogma, ridicule for those not of the same faith, and an amusing uneasiness amongst you, where each is perennially having to evaluate yourselves compared to those around you just to prove one's own devotion to the cause is sincere. Does that make O'bama the king of purgatory?

It seems you were using the word Moderate from a liberal point of view, Knuckle. We all think we're moderate, or conservative, when we want to make a certain point. Are any of us that different?
Yes, I was logged in, composed a reply to someone else's message, and when I hit "post comment" I got a full screen message telling me "You don't have Sufficient Permission to do that".
So I noticed that I was no longer logged in, so tried to select the "sign in" control, and got the exact same "You don't have Sufficient Permission to do that" message
It was Bill Maher who said religion is the placebo of the masses. I think it is a natural social construct that evolved as the glue that first held large families, then tribes, then states, then empires together. Religion defines the sacred and the profane and defines the morals which define the laws. The dead are much more powerful than the living. They created God(s).
