Yes, I find the Regular Show hilarious and refreshing. I like it and Adventure Time. I don't know what happened, but I guess I got bored of watching the same Disney shows over and over again with my 7 year-old, and I put it on CN for a change of pace. Much to my surprise I was cracking up at the show. Yeah, the humer seems more geared towards adults, but it's still kept my daughter's attention. Unfortuantely, I can't get my 1 year old hooked on those shows, so I have to stick w/ Caillou and Bubble Guppies for now lol.
I've been watching way too much Cartoon Network lately, and here's my take on some of their shows:
*Scooby-Doo: It was better when I was a kid. Still somewhat funny. *New Loony Tunes Show: eh, some skits are funny. They overplay them way too much, and they've absolutely killed the Roadrunner. *Tom and Jerry: God I love this show. It makes me want to play with my cat way too much. *The Garfield Show: I've seen better *Sidekick: I can't stand it. *Johnny Test: It's a good background filler. *Adventure Time/Regular Show: See a few posts above. *Two Stupid Dogs: eh, it makes bad filler. *Almost Naked Animals: How the hell did a show like this ever get greenlighted? I just don't see the humor in it.
I went through a whole "DBZ" phase too, when I was about 19-20. It was airing new then on cartoon network. That led me into Inuyasha (always fun to try and remember all the ridiculous character names), Yu Yu Hakusho, Outlaw Star (one of my favs), and believe it or not One Piece. I never cared for Trigun. I thought the main char was just a whiney beeatch.
Cartoons when I was a kid were the best. Pf course they can't even be aired nowadays in our politically correct climate. Shows like Mighty Mouse and the old Looney Tunes were chock full of violence and racism. Black cats were always the "bad guys" and were drawn with African American appearances and mannerism. They did all their evil deeds against the white mice until Mighty Mouse came along and inflicted all sorts of nastiness on them. "Here I come to save the day!!" Won't even get into the sexual overtones, like the shapely girl mice who the bad blackies preyed upon.
