Not me. I know there will be winners and losers. Some will get medals and some wont. It really doesn't matter where each one of them was born. I find no reason to cheer anyone. They really can't hear me. I do acknowledge that they've done the workouts forever and are in great shape. Sports are good to generate the desire to go to the Olympics for those who might have a chance to win. It's a small group of people.
Good question. The ones I saw were Mexican, Canadian, Australian, and American, I don't recall seeing any Russians but then again I've not seen too much of the diving.
It's amazing how boring, uninteresting, and "empty feeling" they get once swimming and gymnastics are over. Beach volleyball and the sprint races were interesting too, but they're not hyped to the same level that swimming and gymnastics are.
I also missed the whole thing. I do have a TV. But, I don't have satellite or cable and the antenna system seems to have gone down Dodo bird alley.
A few short years ago, transmitter towers with 50 KW transmitters were the only way to get something out there.
I used to tune around on the FM band to find local DJ's who would stay under 100 mW and be legal. (I bet not all of them stayed under the 100mW power limit.)
There are still local antenna users - mostly religious programs or bi-lingual stuff.
The internet has changed our lives.
I don't like spending money to watch commercials every 5 minutes during the show. I miss all those informative Romney and Obama ads too. I'll suffer thru it.
You musta missed the "not interested" post. Never was much of a fan of watching people doing stuff. I dont watch baseball, bassetball, hockey, none of those sports. If I dont watch the pros, why bother with the amateurs.
Whats with them little girls in swimsuits dancing around with a ball or a ribbon?????? Yeah, that's a sport. I can't wait for the Hula Hoop competition
