I just leave it alone. The more work one does to keep it clean, the more one notices when it gets dirty. There is still lots of dust in the air. I let the rain wash the dust off. I do like washing the car(s) if I need a little extra exercise, like if I ate too much food. It does happen. Generally, once a year gets the bugs and bird poop off. If I'm really ambitious, I'll put some wax on it. It works the upper body after a hour or so of polishing the wax.
Before winter I wash and wax it. Come spring it get's a good detailing. During the summer I just hit the soft clothe drive thru washes. When rust pops up I immediately take it to the body shop to have it taken are of.
Products? They're all good, walk into an Autozone and the shelves are lined with products that work fine.
I will use a touchless care wash during the winter months to get the road salt off. Then I will also use microfiber cloths with warm water, wipe it down and dry it off with a shamie. (I do not remember how to spell it though.) I will wax once a month with Miguires Ulitmate once it hits over 60 Degrees F.
I will be doing this for the life of my 2013 Dodge Dart SXT that I got 2 months ago. (It is easy to do and keeps me busy. After all, this is an investment and I am going to take care of it.) Also, my coach/ friend showed me how to do this.
Before I first saw one in real life, I thought I would not like them at all. Since I have had it though, I have loved it and the power it provides. I have never owned a mid level car before, usually just the bottom end models. The only thing this car does not have it the UConnect 8.4, cruise control and remote starter.
It is tungsten color which is a really dark, shiny grayish color. It has the black interior with the standard UConnect setup. I love when people look at it and when I blow the doors off folks every now and then. (Not often but only when I need too.) It has the Multi Air Turbo 1.4L engine with a 6 speed Manual Transmission. (It is almost like a sleeper car.)
