So you either win just another Super Bowl with your team and be forgotten by most in ten years (unless you mention that the Super Bowl you won was that one where the lights went off for half an hour)... or you go down in history as being the guy who blatantly risked everything and broke the rules to prevent a TD by the opposing team and be remembered by everyone even decades later.
