It's too outside of the box and probably considered too risky. If it works they'll be remembered for the rest of their life for it. If it doesn't, they'll probably get laughed at, charged with an error, screamed at by their manager and team, etc.
This is truly a "golden age" era to be a tigers fan. With Cabrera and Scherzer both reeling off achievements ranking them among the very best to have EVER played the game, very few fans get to live to witness such greatness.
The fact that we got both in trades that never panned out for the other teams, makes it that much better.
And the likelihood that we will 3-pete the division this season is a real treat. How many fans ever get to enjoy THAT from their team?

Everyone pretty much hates A-Rod right now, right? Well, what better way would there have been to make everyone love him than if when he got hit by that pitch he immediately gave the catcher a mule kick to his protected chest (like in that video TG posted) and sprinted like a madman for the pitcher, bat in hand, and whooped his ass with it (not enough to cause serious harm of course)? If he did it quick enough he'd have plenty of time to get at least a couple of whacks in (assuming the pitcher couldn't outrun him, but even so it would still serve a great purpose), and also he'd have the advantage of being the only guy on the field with a bat so he would probably be able to get to safety without getting hit himself, especially with the help of his team who would empty the bench at the same time as well.
A-Rod seems like the perfect guy to do it too, what does he have to lose? He's already hated, he's already probably going to be suspended, he's already set for multiple lifetimes financially. And he'd have a legitimate, reasonable defense for doing it.
It would also set a fantastic and necessary (in my opinion) precedent and make all those wussy pitchers think twice about "retaliating" with a dangerous weapon traveling 90+MPH inches from a person's head and body while they're nice and far away at a safe distance.
So to answer your question, when fans are really pissed off they will throw loose change and plastic beer cups on the ice. (There really isn't much else you can throw.)
